Most armor is not powered. Like weapons, some power armor may be charged using resonant power transfer stations. In emergencies, these power cells may also be recharged using a built-in manual generator. Many types of power armor use long-lasting fusion cells so that the user need not bother with refueling for up to 6 months.
Body panzers are full body heavy armor systems unavailable on the regular consumer market. This armor might be found in the field or purchased through less than legal channels for an incredibly high price. A body panzer must be custom fitted to its user, ill fitted body panzers increase the difficulty of all Might and Speed tasks by two steps. The armor also grants a +2 bonus to all melee weapon damage.
A deflector shield is an energy shield that can be worn on the arm to absorb energy and kinetic attacks, adding to an existent Armor. Player must specify turning it on or off.
A deflector field is a belt mounted energy shield that protects the whole body like a deflector shield, adding to existent Armor. Player must specify turning it on or off.
Flak suits, kinetic and reflex armor, reflex power armor, and body panzers can all be converted to EVA suits by adding pressurization seals and life support systems. The cost for an EVA conversion is listed in the armor table. To read more about EVA suits see the regular equipment list.
Flak armor is a lightweight durable polymer armor.
This full body armor is proficient at absorbing large amounts of kinetic damage, providing more protection than flak.
A kinetic buckler is a small, lightweight shield that protects from kinetic damage, adding to an existent Armor.
Reflex armor is a powered full body suit with an energy dispersant property added to the kinetic defense. It is usually unavailable on the regular consumer market. This armor might be found in the field or purchased through less than legal channels for an exorbitant price. Reflex power armor must be custom fitted to its user, ill fitted reflex power armor increases the difficulty of all Might and Speed tasks by one step. The armor also grants a +1 bonus to all melee weapon damage.
Synthehide is a durable synthetic leather that looks and feels like the real thing but lasts much longer.
The table below lists available armor in S4. This list is not exhaustive. If the player would like to create an armor type not found on the table for their character they should consult the GM to work out details.
